Chapter 9 – Psoriasis Case Histories PDF Print E-mail
This section has several case histories of patients with different kinds of psoriasis.  These stories are included for the same reasons that Beverly started the first group meeting to discuss how their lives were affected by psoriasis.  Some of the stories may present some new information; some of them will be reminders that people have similar problems.  They are intended to give something of the spectrum of how lives are affected by this disease.  Some of these case histories describe standard treatments, and some of them describe alternative or holistic treatments.  Just because a case history is included here does not mean that it is generally accepted by the medical profession, nor even by a large group of psoriasis patients as a whole.  However, they are included to give some of the variety of how different psoriasis patients deal with the symptoms of their disease.

The first case is centered around a lovely nine-year-old that was diagnosed with guttate psoriasis.  This was a severe case since over half of her body was covered with the standard lesions for this form of psoriasis.  Initial consultations with a doctor, and then with a specialist, provided no great insight, and not many treatment options.  The physician did suggest and prescribe a steroid, but that had no affect on the inflamed skin.  Other than being told that there was no cure for the disease, little other help was offered.   The family of the child did some research, and found a book by Dr. Pagano that was titled “Healing Psoriasis Naturally.”  Some of the suggestions in that book did give relief, but only for a time.  The symptoms of psoriasis seemed especially bad in the fall and winter of the year.

Finally the family had testing for bio-energetics done before the start of the next swimming season.  Psoriasis is one of those diseases where even smaller children are embarrassed to be wearing a bathing suit if there are inflamed areas.   The results of the test indicated that there were several viruses and bacteria resident in the body, and the recommendation was for a sequence of enzymes and detoxification to improve the state of health.  After beginning the regimen, results started to come after two days.  By the end of two weeks the lesions were entirely gone.  This was several years ago and there has not been another flare up since.
